(VOVworld) - Syria's government said on Sunday it is ready for further peace talks with the opposition and that it is intent on a political solution to the five-year conflict.

The state news agency SANA quoted an official in the foreign ministry as saying that Syria is ready to continue the Syrian-Syrian dialogue without any preconditions.

In the statement, the ministry said it is keen to achieve a political solution that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people and enjoys the support of the UN and the international community.
