Mr. Chinh, who is also head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, noted that the success has once again proved the spirit and mettle of Vietnam, which never gives in to difficulties and challenges.
Participants agreed that correct and timely decisions appropriate to each stage of the pandemic enabled Vietnam to slow down the spread of the deadly virus and gradually contain the disease in a short period of time.
PM Chinh appreciated the efforts made by all-level authorities, sectors, localities, steering committees for COVID-19 fight, and especially health workers, military and public security soldiers, and other frontline forces.
He also took this occasion to thank other countries and international organizations for supporting Vietnam.
The Government leader asked the Ministry of Health to build a national pandemic response plan; develop preventive and grassroots health systems; and improve the quality of medical workers, especially those at the grassroots level and in disadvantaged, remote, mountainous, border, island, and ethnic minority areas.
He also demanded further development of vaccines, biologicals, medical equipment, and traditional medicine.
