The street festival, a highlight of the 2025 Southeast Asian Gong Festival, took place on Sunday in the central highland city of Da Lat, drawing artists from the provinces of Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, Phu Tho, and Lam Dong
Artisan Tran Ngoc Dung, of the Thai ethnic group from Phu Tho province, said, “Da Lat, the city of a thousand flowers, evokes a very unique feeling for me. It's very dreamy, the air is very fresh, and the people are very friendly. I've met many different ethnic groups, including foreigners, each bringing their own distinct cultural identity. The feeling is that I don't want to leave at all.”
Artisan Thong Souphoni, from Vientiane, Laos, said that at the Southeast Asian Gong Festival, the Lao troupe performed the sounds of gongs and traditional costumes and Da Lat left them with emotions. “The Laotian actors today are wearing beautiful Laotian dresses and scarves. Lam Dong province has many beautiful tourist spots, and the weather is very pleasant. There are many nice flowers. The people live a comfortable life, and there are many delicious dishes.
The resounding gongs in the heart of Da Lat are spreading a message of unity, respect, and preservation of traditional cultural values in modern life.
