Approximately 1,800 Vietnamese citizens currently in Australia have applied to be on the flight. This is far higher than the plane’s capacity, so Vietnam’s diplomatic agencies in Australia are now carefully weighing which individuals should be given priority.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Australia and the Consulate Generals in Sydney and Perth will notify returnees by email and explain how the repatriation will be carried out.
