State President, OVs offer incense at Ly Thai To Monument, Ngoc Son Temple

(VOVWORLD) - State President Luong Cuong and his spouse, along with representatives from ministries, agencies and the Hanoi authorities, and 100 overseas Vietnamese (OVs), held an incense-offering ceremony at the statue of King Ly Thai To and Ngoc Son Temple in downtown Hanoi on Sunday.

The activity was part of the annual “Homeland Spring 2026” program, jointly organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People’s Committee.

Following the ceremony, the State President, his spouse and the overseas Vietnamese delegates took part in the traditional release of carp at Hoan Kiem Lake.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, State President Luong Cuong and his spouse expressed their gratitude to Vietnamese communities around the world for their enduring attachment to the homeland, and extended best wishes to all overseas compatriots for a new year of good health, prosperity and success.

Huynh Tan Binh, an overseas Vietnamese from the Czech Republic, said: “I have lived in the Czech Republic for 43 years. Returning home in spring to celebrate Tet brings me particularly special emotions. Participating in the program alongside overseas Vietnamese from all parts of the world, I’m better understand the State’s care and attention for the overseas Vietnamese community. We’re grateful for this support and hope that continued national renewal would bring further achievements and prosperity for the country.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, an overseas Vietnamese from Malaysia, said that wherever they live, Vietnamese people always turn their hearts towards the homeland: “Each Vietnamese person has their own way to contribute to the homeland, according to their expertise and strengths, whether as entrepreneurs or community activists, they are working together to strengthen the overseas Vietnamese community and help affirm Vietnam’s position on the international stage.”

Earlier, the delegation of outstanding overseas Vietnamese paid respect at the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and laid wreaths at the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street in Hanoi.

The same day, State President Luong Cuong will inaugurate the “Homeland Spring 2026” program at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi, with the participation of overseas Vietnamese from around the world.
