The memorial service was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and other senior officials of the Government and National Assembly.
Delivering the eulogy, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai praised late Deputy PM Thanh as a shining example for his lifetime dedication to the homeland and people.
Deputy PM Thanh was born in Hai Phong on October 20, 1962. He was a former Party Central Committee member in the 12th and 13th tenures, former Secretary of Hai Phong’s Party Committee, former Chairman of Hai Phong’s People’s Council, and former National Assembly deputy in the 12th tenure.
He was awarded third-class and second-class Labor Orders.
