With the theme "Resounding Tay Son's spirit", the program featured more than 100 actors, singers, dancers, musicians, performing 15 staged performances of singing, dancing and plays. The victory of Ngoc Hoi-Dong Da defeating 200,000 Chinese Qing invaders liberating Thang Long Citadel was vividly recreated through musicals and performances.
The anniversary falls on the fifth day of the lunar year, marking the battle between King Quang Trung's troops and Chinese Qing invaders in spring 1789. The victory smashed the Qing dynasty's intention to occupy Vietnam.
In particular, there was a performance to pay tribute to the silent sacrifices of frontliners in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
