Southeast Asian Youth Festival opens

(VOVWORLD) - The Southeast Asian Youth Festival opened in Hanoi on Saturday to promote unity among young people of ASEAN countries and to celebrate the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) held in Vietnam.

The Festival took place around Hoan Kiem Lake with various activities including an exhibition of cultures, national flowers and costumes of ASEAN countries, ASEAN cuisine, a map drawing contest, and a walk for a united Southeast Asia. During the festival, a street art show of singing, dancing, martial art, and other sport games will also be held.

Representatives from 11 ASEAN countries will visit scenic spots in Hanoi and SEA Games 31 competition venues. A highlight of the Festival will be a Gala night to celebrate SEA Games 31, which will officialy open on May 12.
