The Military Cyber Command, another army cyber warfare unit, will be under direct command of the JSC Chief. The command reportedly plans to increase its current personnel of 600 to 1,000.
The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff raised their alert level on cyber attacks to 3 on a scale of 5, after a recent cyber attack on one of its nuclear operators.
The South Korean government’s network suffers some 10,000 cyber attacks every day, said its National Computing and Information Agency. The agency itself faces 60,000 to 100,000 attacks a day.
