The airport has been the site of missile tests, including a pair of short-range ballistic missiles fired last month.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said that its military is currently monitoring the possibility of North Korea's further launches and will consider countermeasures. If confirmed, this would be Pyongyang's eighth missile test so far this year.
