(VOVWORLD) -South Korea will offer free group visas to a number of countries, including Vietnam, from January 1, 2024.

At a conference to promote the development of the tourism industry in Gwangju City last Friday, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo said his Government will expand the list of countries with free visas for groups and change tax refund policies for international visitors at shopping locations.

Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia will be eligible for free visas for groups.

To facilitate domestic travel for tourists, the Korean Government will develop an application to support reservations on public transportation for international visitors. It will be available in English. Artificial Intelligence (AI) translation technology will also help tourists from all over the world travel within Korea more conveniently.
