Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the municipal Information and Communications Department, said HCMC has 10 million people with 22 million social network accounts.

It also has 200 press agencies, 355 social networks, and more than 1,000 websites and is home to the largest number of content creators in Vietnam.

Thang said the AI-based software is capable of collecting data from a variety of popular social networking platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

“The app will gather information, analyze and evaluate it, detect trends, and group collected opinions into positive, negative and neutral. Based on this information, advisory bureaus in departments, localities and functional agencies can give city leaders the advice they need to promptly adjust policies,” said Thang.
