The army helicopter, which was helping with flood relief work in Balochistan province, took off from Uthal at 5:10 pm on Monday and was supposed to land in Karachi at 6:05 pm, but it lost contact with air traffic control.
Major General Babar Iftikhar, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, confirmed that search team found the wreckage of the helicopter in the Musa Goth, Windar, Lasbela area of Balochistan province.
All six officers on board the helicopter were killed, including Corps Commander Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali, and Director General of the Pakistani Coast Guard Brigadier Amjad Hanif Satti.
According to the initial investigation, bad weather was the cause of the plane crash. Military and police officials are still trying to reach the scene.
