Foreign forces will bolster the French army and police, who will use sniffer dogs to detect explosives and terrorist activities.
France's government increased its security alert to the highest level on Sunday following the recent terrorist attack in Moscow.
“The risk of terrorism is huge. French people’s security will be given top priority. We have raised the national security alert system to its highest level. Security forces will be strengthened at all sensitive locations, such as schools, train stations, places of worship, and performance venues,” said Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
France will mobilize 18,000 soldiers for the Olympics, including 3,000 personnel responsible for aerial surveillance.
