SEA Games 29: Vietnam moves into second place

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam advanced to second place in the medal tally of the ongoing 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia on Wednesday, the fourth official competition day.

Vietnam won 12 gold medals in gymnastics, cycling, fencing, karate, shooting, and athletics during the day, bringing its total gold to 27.

Shooter Ha Minh Thanh won a gold medal in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol. He scored 586 points, surpassing the previous SEA Games record. Vietnam sent more than 450 athletes to compete at the Games in 32 out of 38 sports, hoping to bring home 49-59 gold medals and finish in the top three.
