The Kurdish administration in Syria made the statement amid limited response to the US’s urging of countries to repatriate and prosecute their citizens who traveled to Syria to fight with ISIS and who are now being held by Washington’s local partners. The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces say they have detained more than 9,000 foreign fighters and their relatives at Al-Hol, 6,500 of whom are children.
US President Donald Trump earlier tweeted that the US was asking Britain, France, Germany and other European allies to take back over 800 ISIS fighters captured in Syria and put them on trial.
