(VOVworld) – Children of naval soldiers who have achieved outstanding academic results were given scholarships at a ceremony Sunday in Hai Phong as part of the “Jointly safeguarding Vietnam’s sovereignty in the East Sea” program.

120 scholarships worth 140 USD each were presented to children studying in Hai Phong city and some neighbouring provinces.

Launched by Tuoi Tre (Young age) newspaper in May, the program has raised 2.6 million USD from organizations and individuals to buy equipment to support naval soldiers, marine police, and fisheries resources surveillance forces and their families.
