(VOVWORLD) - Ensuring affordable energy supply is key to facilitating a global economic recovery amid the Covid-19 outbreak, Saudi Arabian Energy Minister Abdel Abdulaziz bin Salman told a conference of the G20 group of the world’s largest economies on Friday.

He added that having affordable, reliable, and accessible energy supply is considered a necessity to enable basic services, including health care, and help their efforts in assisting economic recovery.

At the conference, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak called on the G20 group to join the efforts of leading oil producers, known as the OPEC+, to stabilize energy markets. He also proposed to set up a committee to coordinate actions aimed at energy market stabilization.
