VNA correspondent is interviewing Ilya Ushov, journalist, historian, and scholar on Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

They told Vietnam News Agency’s correspondent in Moscow that East Sea issues have gradually turned into conflicts and there hasn’t been a major diplomatic solution to address the situation.

According to these scholars, it’s impossible for China to continue its stiff diplomatic policies and provocative acts in the East Sea because of several reasons. First it is the economic benefits from the East Sea which will help China maintain its energy stability. Second China always expresses its wish to monopolize the East Sea, even reach out to the Pacific. And finally is the growing expansionism in Chinese society.
