Russian October Revolution’s significance highlighted

(VOVworld) - Peace lovers in Vietnam, Russia, and throughout the world on Thursday celebrated the 96th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution, which falls on November 7.

Major newspapers in Vietnam posted photos of V.I Lenin, the great leader of the October Revolution and articles marking this event. The daily Nhan Dan or People's newspaper quoted President Ho Chi Minh as saying that: “Like the sun, the October Revolution lights up all the five continents and awakens millions of oppressed people on earth. In the history of mankind, this was the first significant revolution”.

The Quan Doi Nhan Dan or People’s Army newspaper ran an article highlighting the special significance of the October Revolution in training officials for Vietnam’s national construction and defense. The article said that since that revolution human history has entered a new phase with profound changes.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Party Committee of the Political, Party and People Bloc held a ceremony to celebrate the Revolution and presented Party badges to its Party members. Nguyen Hoang Nang, Party Secretary of the Bloc, highlighted the impact that the Russian October Revolution had on the world and on the Vietnamese revolution. President Ho Chi Minh integrated these influences in guiding the Vietnamese revolution for national liberation.
