Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized that any way of ensuring Ukraine’s security guarantees via "foreign military intervention on any part of Ukrainian territory" will be unacceptable to Russia. Instead, he proposed that a group of countries, including members of the United Nations Security Council, Germany, Turkey, and several others, should jointly play the role of security guarantors for Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s European allies are working to discuss a set of security guarantees for Ukraine, such as deploying Western forces to the country and establishing a buffer zone once the conflict ends.
