(VOVworld)- Russian and American Foreign Ministers agreed with  the United Nations and Arab League Special Envoy to Syria , Lakhdar Brahimi, that only political solution may put turmoil in Syria to an end. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Secretary of State John Kerry during their meeting in Geneva on Friday supported negotiation efforts following Russia ’s initiative to place Syria ’s chemical weaponry under international control. Russian media reported that the talks in Geneva continued through Saturday while an US official said they came close to a deal on the size of Syria ’s hazardous arsenal.
