(VOVworld) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday suspended a deal with the US on the disposal of weapons-grade plutonium because of “unfriendly” actions by Washington.

A decree signed by Putin cited detailed changes in the current situation, hostile actions by the US against Moscow, and the failure of the US to deliver on the obligation to dispose of excessive weapons plutonium under international treaties. It also stressed that plutonium will not be used for any military purpose or research.
