He stressed that the readiness of Russia to enter into negotiations remains unchanged as Moscow will always be ready to listen to suggestions made by other countries on de-escalation.
Lavrov said talks will be possible if Russia is approached with realistic proposals, based on the principles of equality and respect for each other's interests, and aimed at finding compromises and balancing the interests of all countries.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said talks on Ukraine should first be held with the US. Russia will continue to defend its interests and will not tolerate any country dominating it, he stressed.
