(VOVworld) – Russia has denied NATO claims that its army has crossed into eastern Ukraine in the past few days. A spokesperson for the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, dismissed the NATO accusations Wednesday as anti-Russian "hot air", saying that there was and is no evidence to prove the move.

During a visit to Bulgaria on Wednesday, General Philip Breedlove, NATO's Supreme Commander in Europe, confirmed that NATO saw columns of Russian amour, artillery and combat troops entering eastern Ukraine, where military conflicts between the Kiev’s administration and separatists have taken place over the past 6 months.
In another development, the EU pledged an additional 3.3 million euros to help the most vulnerable people affected by the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine meet their basic needs and prepare for the approaching winter. This increases the Commission's humanitarian funding to 11.05 million euros since the beginning of the crisis. The European Commission announced the disbursement of 260 million euros to Ukraine as part of the EU’s Macro-Financial Assistance, supplementing the 600 million euros disbursed since May. Under the two ongoing MFA programs worth 1.61 billion euros, 750 million euros remain available to Ukraine.
