Addressing an award ceremony to honor the developers of the Burevestnik and Poseidon missiles on Tuesday, Putin said the Burevestnik nuclear-powered strategic cruise missile, with its unlimited range, and the Poseidon unmanned submarine will help maintain a strategic balance throughout the 21st century, adding that both weapons are made entirely from domestically produced materials.

He noted that the development of these systems has led to major technological breakthroughs, not only in the defense industry but also in civilian applications. These advances, he said, support key national projects like small-scale nuclear energy, power generation for the Arctic region, space exploration, and the development of heavy-lift transport spacecraft and a potential lunar station.
