Speaking at a training session for strategic nuclear forces, Putin emphasized that Russia’s nuclear forces serve as a “reliable guarantee” of the country’s sovereignty and security. He reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to enhancing its nuclear deterrence capabilities to support its strategic containment mission and maintain global nuclear balance.

Putin clarified that Russia does not seek a new arms race but will maintain its nuclear arsenal at a “sufficient” level. Plans include modernizing the strategic missile force to improve accuracy, reduce launch times, and strengthen missile defense capabilities.
