According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam exported 6 million tonnes of rice this year, 1 million tonnes higher than last year’s figure. The demand for rice in markets such as China, Malaysia, the Philippines and the Republic of Korea, has increased significantly, helping to improve the country’s rice export volume. Vietnam’s rice exports are expected to increase 400,000 tonnes next year, due to higher demand from Southeast Asian markets. Vietnam plans to export 4 million tonnes per year on average, worth around 2.3 USD to 2.5 billion USD, from 2021 to 2030.
