Rescue teams have cut at least one hole in the hull, which is sticking out of the water, and are working on three others to give divers new routes into parts of the upturned ship.
The problem is how to balance the ship and keep it from further sinking during the rescue work. The ship was now connected with steel wire.
As planned, the ship will be pulled upright by a crane while rescuers are searching inside. Experts said the dilute air in closed space may hinder the rescue effort.
