Reorganizing administrative units ensures progress, says PM

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday chaired a meeting to deploy the plan of the Central Steering Committee to summarize Resolution 18 on merging provincial and communal administrative units and building a two-tier government system at the local level.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh urged ministries and sectors to effectively implement the plans of the Party Central Committee and the Government based on their functions and tasks as well as to propose issues beyond their authority.

The Prime Minister requested ministers and heads of sectors to closely follow the progress, give close direction, and strive to complete the guidelines so that localities will operate under the new administration model from July 1, 2025.

Mr. Chinh said, "During the arrangement process, ensure the right progress and comply with regulations. Especially the arrangement of the district medical center, communes and wards to make it convenient for people to travel, especially students to go school".
