Vietnamese Government representatives handed over to the US side two sets of remains, which were found during the 134th Joint Field Activities in February and March.
The remains had been jointly examined by Vietnamese and US forensic specialists in Da Nang to determine if they matched US servicemen missing during the war in Vietnam.
The search for the remains of US MIAs is an example of humanitarian cooperation between Vietnam and the US. This is the 148th hand-over of missing servicemen’s remains since 1973.
