(VOVworld) - Several “Red Ribbon” awards were presented at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday. The Red Ribbon Award aims to acknowledge outstanding individuals' contributions to HIV/AIDS prevention. Some of the 2015 Red Ribbon Awards’ 6 categories entitled: Contribution, Success, and Companion, were presented to people and children living with HIV/AIDS to honor their iron will and determination to overcome difficulties in life and achieve success. Artists playing an active role in advocacy activities for HIV/AIDS prevention were also honored. Actor Chi Thien told VOV: "I always want to do something to reduce the social discrimination against HIV/AIDS carriers. Those infected with HIV/AIDS have equal rights with us. I met a very optimistic little girl who is positive with HIV, and I think people should not keep a distance from her just because her conditions."
