At a meeting with UN and diplomatic officials in Ramallah on Thursday, Mr. Mustafa said the Palestinian Authority the five-year plan crafted in partnership with Arab and international experts, would cover 18 sectors, including housing, education, and governance.

Gaza shall be rebuilt as an open, connected and thriving part of the State of Palestine, he said, adding the process will “reinforce the political and territorial unity between Gaza and the West Bank.”

This is a notable move, as the Palestinian Authority has lost its administrative role in Gaza since 2007, when Hamas took control of the territory. Mustafa affirmed that the PA will fully operate in Gaza within the next 12 months.
