She is currently the fourth-longest-reigning monarch in world history, behind Louis XIV of France, Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, and Johann II of Liechtenstein.
In a message to the public at a small reception for her Platinum Jubilee held on Saturday at her country estate, Sandringham, she thanked all people and pledged to dedicate all her life to serving the nation.
The Queen also announced during the address that she wants Duchess Camilla of Cornwall - the second wife of her son and heir, Prince Charles - to have the title of queen consort when Charles becomes king.
Queen Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952 after the death of her father King George VI.
At the age of 95, she continues to carry the official responsibilities of the British Royal Family, but rarely appears in public since being hospitalized last October.
