A ceremony to hand over of the secretariat fromThailand’s PTT Exploration to Production Public Company Limited and PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation took place in the framework of the 45th ASCOPE Council Members Meeting in Hanoi. The appoinment shows the active role and integration of PetroVietnam into Southeast Asia’s oil and gas sector, as well as Vietnam’s increasing position in ASEAN.
Dr. Nam said in this term, ASCOPE will enhance dialogues and exchanges, as well as seeking business opportunities between member countries which have energy consumption demand of up to 60 percent over the past 15 years.
