According to the White House, Putin and Trump will discuss the situation in Syria, the conflict in Ukraine, and other subjects. The announcement came one day after Trump's National Security Adviser John Bolton met with Putin in Moscow to lay the groundwork for the summit.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the summit, saying that it is absolutely, totally in line with NATO policy to talk to Russia while maintaining a strong defense posture.
