Putin said he had been thinking about his potential successor since 2000, adding that it will be the Russian people who will decide the result. 

Talking about the Russian – US relation, Putin said Russia is ready to discuss with the US any matter including missile-related issues, cyberspace or counter-terrorism efforts and hoped for the same reaction from the US. He also rejected any accusation of having something to do with Russia’s interference in the presidential election in the United States.
