(VOVworld) – More than 640 lecturers and scientists received titles of professor and associate-professor in 2014 at a ceremony on Wednesday at the Temple of Literature.

The eldest professor is 87-year-old Le Ngoc Khanh and the youngest is Phan Thanh Son Nam, at the age of 37. Minister of Education and Training, Pham Vu Luan, said these people had been recognized for their outstanding achievements in their teaching careers and their scientific research: “Professors and associate professors need to continue to bring into full play their prestige and influence among the scientific community and society in general. They should further contribute to education and training reform as well as scientific and technological development, which are both priorities for national development”.
