(VOVworld) – Production and tourism activities began in several localities on the first day of the new lunar year in the hope for good luck and prosperity. At 8AM on Wednesday Cam Pha Port and Logistics company of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group received the first cargo ship of the year, which provided 8,000 tonnes of coal for Nghi Son factory in Thanh Hoa province.

Da Nang city welcomed the first foreign visitors of the year on board Star Bridge Cruse Ship from the United States. The number of foreign visitors to Da Nang during Tet is estimated at 200,000, up 10% from last year.

On Wednesday via Lao Cai international border gate with China’s Yunnan province, An Binh farm produce export-import company imported 180 tonnes of fertilizer worth 20,000 USD. Director of the Mao Ye-Hekou Trade Company Ye Hui said that since a new route from Kunming to Hekou, Yunnan, China became operational since January this year, transportation capacity has doubled: “I hope that Chinese and Vietnamese fertilizer businesses will be successful in the new year. I also hope that trade between Vietnam and China, particularly China’s Hekou district and Vietnam’s Lao Cai province, will flourish.”
