In an official telegram issued on Sunday, the Prime Minister said that the COVID-19 pandemic has been basically under the control thanks to the engagement of the whole political system and appropriate measures taken. Many localities have let their guard down and relaxed anti-pandemic measures, especially not wearing a face mask in public places or not avoiding large gatherings. As a result, the pandemic is becoming more complicated with unpredictable developments.  

As Vietnam is actively preparing for the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the People's Councils for the 2021-2026 term, the Prime Minister urged for strengthened safety measures, information dissemination, and coordination among agencies in pandemic response.
