Addressing a government meeting on Friday, the Prime Minister applauded localities for sending medical staff to epidemic’s hotspots, which he said shows great compatriotism.
He urged provinces and cities to impose social distancing in accordance with local conditions. But he said business and production must be ensured so prevent the economy from disruption.
“There should be rapid and effective response, while all forces are mobilized to contain the epidemic and keep infection rate at the lowest level. Healthcare facilities led by the Ministry of Health must prevent hospitals from outbreak. Medical staff must be protected. Epidemic hotspots must be strictly isolated. Accurate and quick test is key to prevent the epidemic from spreading," the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Phuc called on the Ministry of Health to provide equipment and human resources to infected localities. Food must be available to serve the people nationwide. He asked the education sector to take precautions to avoid infection during the high school graduation exams.
Vietnam on Friday afternoon reported 34 new cases of COVID-19, according to the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
To date, Vietnam has a total of 784 cases of COVID-19, of which 314 imported cases are immediately isolated. New cases related to Da Nang outbreak since July 25 has numbered 330.
