Under the decree, Vietnam has timely and promptly dealt with COVID-19 outbreaks, slowed the infection in community, cured more patients, and recorded no deaths of the disease after three weeks of social distancing despite the disease spreading worldwide. The Prime Minister asked for continuation of disease prevention measures and participation of all ministries, sectors, localities, the whole political system, and the public while creating conditions for restoring socio-economic activities. The decree stipulates that restrictions can be loosened based on the situation of the disease, especially in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and major urban areas.
