(VOV) - Vietnam attaches importance to developing relations with France, one of its key partners in Europe, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has said. At a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday for former French PM Dominique de Villepin, Dung noted with satisfaction the positive development of the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and France in recent times, benefiting the two nations. PM Dung proposed that France provide continued assistance to the Hanoi Technology University project and back Vietnam in concluding negotiations of a free trade agreement (FTA) with the European Union.

Dominique de Villepin said the France-Vietnam relations are developing well, spanning from politics to economics, education-training, and science-technology. Notably, both countries decided to upgrade their relationship to a strategic partnership level in 2013. He also said France is looking forward to receiving PM Dung during his upcoming visit to Paris to legalize the strategic partnership between the two countries.
