Prime Minister Phuc said Vietnam was consistent to its diplomatic policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, development, multilateralization, and diversification, being reliable and responsible member of the world community. He added Vietnam would strengthen its friendship and cooperation with all countries and friends around the world, particularly countries with which Vietnam shares a border. Mr. Phuc said that Vietnam would also make an effort to sustain peace and stability in the region and settle disagreements and differences by peaceful means on the basis of international law. Prime Minister said: “I hope that representatives of countries and international organizations will continue upholding your role and responsibility to bring countries closer for peace and prosperity. I hope you will have a great time in Vietnam”.

The head of the foreign diplomatic corps to Vietnam, El Houcine Fardani, said: “The socio-economic development of Vietnam during the past 3 decades is exceptional. Its experience is a source of inspiration for developing countries showing that underdevelopment is not inevitable. Thanks to its foreign policy based multilateralization, diversification and independence, Vietnam is playing an active role in regional and international level to maintain peace and stability in the region and the world”.

The same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and People’s Committee held a get-together with consulates, economic, trade, and cultural agencies, international organizations, foreign business associations, and non-governmental organizations in Ho Chi Minh City.
