The Prime Minister applauded Hai Phong for its achievements in building the Party and political system, exceeding socio-economic targets, improving people's life, and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. In the immediate future, the city must continue to adapt safely, flexibly, and effectively control the COVID-19 pandemic and recover the economy, he said.

Prime Minister Chinh suggested that the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hai Phong promote self-reliance for rapid and sustainable development on the basis of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, in which green industry, advanced services, eco-tourism and high-tech agriculture must be developed.

He urged for harmonious development between economy, security, national defense, culture and society, improving the quality of human resources, building smart city, enhancing capacity building of grassroots health care and preventive medicine.

Hai Phong needs to adopt a long-term vision in line with national planning, maximize the efficiency of its land, forest, and sea resources, develop clean, green, and offshore wind energy, promote administrative reform, and improve provincial competitiveness, Prime Minister Chinh said.
