The Vietnamese guests were welcomed by representatives of the Government of Singapore; Singapore Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam; Director General of Singapore Protocol Department; Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Mai Phuoc Dung; Vietnamese Embassy staff and Vietnamese expatriates.

As planned, Prime Minister Chinh will hold talks with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and meet with President Halimah Yacob and Parliament Speaker Tan Chuan-Jin. He will meet with the Vietnamese community in Singapore to listen to their thoughts and feelings.

In particular, the Prime Minister will have a meeting with leading Singaporean businesses and attend the Vietnam-Singapore Business Forum to promote trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

This will be the first visit by a Vietnamese Prime Minister to Singapore in five years. It is the opening event for the two countries' 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1973-2023) and 10 years of their Strategic Partnership (2013 - 2023).
