Prime Minister arrives in Washington DC for ASEAN-US summit

(VOVWORLD) - A plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation landed at Andrews military airport in Washington DC on Wednesday morning (Vietnam time). Prime Minister Chinh will attend the Special ASEAN-US Summit and visit the US and the UN during the week-long trip.

Welcoming the Prime Minister at the airport were US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper and Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung.

Prime Minister Chinh will attend activities within the framework of the ASEAN-US summit, have bilateral meetings with leaders from the US and some ASEAN countries, and hold working sessions with UN leaders.

He will meet with leaders of a number of ministries, agencies, international organizations, businesses, experts and scholars in the US and visit economic, cultural and educational establishments.

Prime Minister Chinh will attend trade, tourism and investment promotion activities. In particular, he will meet with the Vietnamese community in the US.
