Addressing the joint press conference following their talks, the two Prime Ministers agreed to push ahead with effectively implementing the joint statement issued during an official visit to Vietnam by Party General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith in June 2021, and the outcomes of an official trip to Laos by Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc in August 2021. The two sides will assist each other to develop an independent and self-reliant economy, maintain the solidarity and unanimity in ASEAN, and support Cambodia’s chairmanship of ASEAN. They will boost connectivity in road, railway, and sea infrastructure. They agreed to foster close cooperation for the special friendship and solidarity as well as comprehensive and practical cooperation.

Following the talks, the two Prime Ministers witnessed a ceremony to sign and exchange eight cooperation documents in the fields of security, border, economy, banking, education, health care, and electricity. They pressed the button to launch the Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year 2022.
