During a visiting to Hue Nghiem and Minh Dao pagodas in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday, the President affirmed the Party and State’s consistent policy of respecting and guaranteeing the people's right to freedom of belief and religion, paying attention to and creating conditions for religious organizations to operate in accordance with the Constitution and laws.
He emphasized that 2023 is of special significance for the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha as it is the first year to implement the Resolution of the 9th National Buddhist Congress.
President Thuong said he hopes the Sangha will uphold the tradition of Vietnamese Buddhism, gain many more religious and life-benefiting achievements, rally monks, nuns and Buddhists to join hands with all people to make an important contribution to national construction and development.
