Since it was designated as a centrally-run city in 1997, Da Nang has evolved into the economic engine of the central region.

Despite COVID-19, the city’s economy is estimated at 2.8 billion USD this year.

President Phuc said Da Nang has the potential to become an international city where tourism, ecology, and culture combine to produce its own identity.

“Priority should be given to human resource development. It’s crucial to promote the values of local people who are brave and staunch in the struggle for national independence and innovative and action-oriented in national construction," said President Phuc.

"The key to Da Nang’s success is how to fully tap human potential, particularly people who are fluent in foreign languages, good at technology, and have skills.”
